1. Registration & Account

1Who can register as a farmer on Tawi?
Any smallholder or commercial farmer who supplies fresh produce that meets Tawi’s quality standards. You must be at least 18 years old and have valid identification.
2How do I sign up?
You can register through our WhatsApp onboarding or directly on the Tawi Platform. We’ll guide you step by step to create your digital profile and list your produce.
3Why do you collect my details?
We use your information for verification, payments, and to match your produce with the right buyers—securely and in line with Kenya’s Data Protection Act.

2. Listing Produce & Orders

1How do I list my produce for sale?
Once onboarded, you can share details such as type, grade, quantity, and expected harvest dates. Our system will make your listings visible to verified buyers.
2How will I know when a buyer orders my produce?
You’ll get a confirmation through WhatsApp or SMS once your produce is matched to an order.
3What if I can’t fulfill an order?
Notify Tawi immediately through WhatsApp or your agent. Repeated order cancellations without notice may lead to suspension from the platform.

3. Delivery & Quality

1How do deliveries work?
Deliveries are coordinated through Tawi’s logistics network. We’ll notify you where and when to deliver or pick up your produce.
2Who handles grading and packaging?
Tawi provides support through our aggregation and packhouse network. Produce is graded and packed according to Tawi’s quality standards before reaching buyers.
3What happens if my produce doesn’t meet the required quality?
Substandard or defective produce will be rejected. Consistent quality helps you maintain trust and increase your chances of repeat orders.

4. Payments

1How do I get paid?
Once your produce is delivered, inspected, and accepted by the buyer, payment is processed through your registered mobile number or bank account within the agreed period.
2Are there any deductions?
Deductions may apply for logistics, handling, or rejected produce. You’ll always receive a clear breakdown of any adjustments.
3What if my payment delays?
Contact Tawi’s support team immediately through WhatsApp or our listed contact channels for quick resolution.

5. Account Management

1Can I update my personal or farm details?
Yes. You can edit your details through WhatsApp onboarding or directly on your profile in the Tawi Platform.
2What happens if I stop supplying through Tawi?
You can deactivate your account anytime. Inactive accounts may be closed after six months of no transactions.
3Can Tawi suspend my account?
Yes. Accounts may be suspended for supplying substandard produce, repeated order defaults, or breach of terms.

6. Data & Privacy

1How does Tawi use my information?
We use your data to manage your account, process payments, and connect you with buyers. Your information is protected under Kenya’s Data Protection Act.
2Will my data be shared with others?
Only with trusted service providers (like transporters or payment partners) and strictly for the purpose of service delivery.
